The Abby Young Hair Method Step 1: Pre-Shampoo Bond Repair Treatment
I've been someone who has always wanted long and healthy hair. Recently I have been working on taking care of my hair and growing it out. I feel like my hair has been very difficult ever since I was a kid. I think I assumed this because it is curly and I always wanted it to be straight. I thought because it wasn't straight it was damaged. When I discovered a straightener I thought all my problems were solved. WRONG! Fast forward to 2025, I'm working on a hair healthy journey. The first steps I took on this journey is cutting down heat on my hair, deep oiling my hair and taking vitamins. After that I discovered the Abby Young hair method. I started buying some of of the products she recommend.
To discover which products work best with your hair, you would have to kinda test each one out. Aim for products that you think your hair needs. For example if your hair is dry and brittle, you would use a product that focuses on moisture and hydration. Anyways, I would start by following this hair method to find out what products work best for your hair. And no you do not need to use all these products. The one thing with going on a healthy hair journey is consistency. Consistency is very important. Hair oiling isn't something you do once every so often and hope to get results. Healthy hair is pretty much a lifestyle LOL. I guess the saying 'beauty is pain" is true.
The Abby Yung Hair Method Step 1:
If you've been on Tiktok to help start your hair growth journey, you probably have come across Abby Yung's hair method. Abby Yung is a Tiktoker who has gone viral for finding the perfect hair products to help you grow out your hair! She focuses on a healthy scalp and strengthening the ends. She created this 10 step routine for all hair types. I've been recently using the products she's been recommending and I've seen amazing changes within a few weeks.
I will be showing you each product she uses for each step of the routine with reviews of the products that I've already tried.
I do my best to always purchase the products by couponing. Since even though they are drug store products the total for all the products recommended totals to over $200! I will do my best to show how I purchased most of the products with coupons and gotten them for less. I purchased most of my products at CVS so thats where I recommend you start. Anyways let's get started with the first step.
Step 1: Pre-shampoo Bond Repair treatment
[This step is optional because we will be using bond repair treaments after shampoo.]
The bond repair treatment that she recommends is the Epres Bond Repair treatment. This one is a bit pricey compared to the other bond treatments. This product comes in the form of a spray and gets evenly distributed on the hair. With this being the very first step of the routine, it is applied on the hair 10 minutes before washing it and your hair should be pretty much soaked with it. You can also leave it on overnight. I have not tried this yet because I usually oil my hair every week before I wash it.
