Image
The Abby Yung Method Step 6:  In-shower Conditioning    The next step in the Abby Yung method is in-shower conditioning. This step includes conditioners, hair masks and glosses. These products have pretty much the same goal of conditioning our hair. The type of product that you use depends.      Glosses: The texture of glosses is usually very light and thin. They are more benficial for fine and thin hair types. These are for anyone wanting to add extra softness and shine.    Masks: The texture of masks is ususally the thickest and heaviest. These are recommended for coarse and thick hair types. Masks are recommended for anyone who wants more intense conditioning.    Conditioners: The texture of conditioners is inbetween masks and glosses. They are usually not to thin and not to heavy. Sometimes thats not always the case. Sometimes masks are ligh...

The Abby Yung Method Step 4: Non- Clarifying Shampoo (Regular Shampoo)  The shampoo you use depends on scalp type, hair and life style. After deciding how often to clarify your hair whether is every day or once a week. The next wash should be regular shampoo. For example, you can clarify your hair 3 times a week and wash twice with normal shampoo. Do whatever works best for your hair. Since many say it’s best to double wash you can use both in the same wash. You can clarify your hair first then use normal shampoo. The first high end ones that are recommended is 1.) Redken Acidic Bonding ($34)  I tried this shampoo when it first came out and It was okay. I felt like it did make my hair really soft.  I felt like I expected more from a high end product. I did return it because it was too pricey and it didn't really "transform' my hair. I felt like the Dove one improved my hair more than this one did.   Link to purchase: https://amzn.to/47Ow57m   2.) The Abby Yung Method Step 5: Bond Repair Treatments

The Abby Yung Method Step 5: Bond Repair Treatments  Bond Repair treatments are usually hair products that are designed to strengthen and repair hair from the inside out. These products are highly recommended for hair that is prone to breakage. The first one that Abby recommends is the K18. Even though the directions say to use this after shampoo and to not rinse out. It can be used it as pre shampoo treatment. This treatment is the most expensive one on the list.   1.) K18: Leave-in Molecular Repair Hair Mask ($75) I have not tried this one personally yet because of the price. I feel like it would be a risk to try and it not work out for me. IF I ever do get the chance to try it out, I will update my blog and make sure to leave a detailed review.    2.) L'Oreal Paris Sulfate Free Bond Repair Pre Shampoo Treatment ($10)   My hair is a lot smoother and easier to manage right after using. However, the real results came with CONSISTENT use after a co...

The Abby Yung Method Step 3: Clarifying Shampoo

Image
The next step of Abby Yung's hair method is clarifying shampoo. Most scalp issues can be solved by using deep cleaning shampoos. It is recommended to use it at-least once a week. It is also okay to use every single wash if your hair needs it.  The first step is figuring out which type of clarifying shampoo is needed. For some brands clarifying could be just removing hard water deposits. Other brands focus on cleaning an oily scalp or cleaning up residue.  To find out what works best for you is to try different kinds and see what suits your hair/scalp needs.  For normal to dry scalps these are the ones she recommends: 1) L'Oreal Metal Detox ($37-46)  The issue that I've always had with my hair is it breaking off like crazy, and wouldn't (or couldn't) grow fast enough to make up for it, anyway my hair was color treated.  I have medium-length, curly frizzy hair which tends to be dry  This shampoo  leaves my hair feeling clean, soft, and lightweigh...

The Abby Yung Hair Method Step 2: Pre Shampoo Oil Treatments

The Abby Yung Hair Method Step 2:                  Pre Shampoo  Oil Treatments   The purpose of this step is to protect your length and ends during the wash process. This was the first product that I started with in my healthy hair journey. I began with this oil because my hair is prone to breakage. What made me realized that my hair is prone to breakage is that I would get my hair trimmed every couple months. I would do this to get rid of split ends and as a refresher for my hair. I realized that my hair would grow but it would not grow past my shoulders. When I did a little bit of research ( Tiktok & Google LOL) I realized that my hair has been breaking off as fast as it was growing! I had already reduced the use of heat on my hair to 2 times a month. At 3 most. That's when I discovered I needed to focus on protecting my ends. I always used a heat protectant and I guess that wasn't enough.      This st...
