The Abby Yung Method Step 4: Non- Clarifying Shampoo (Regular Shampoo)

The Abby Yung Method Step 4: Non- Clarifying Shampoo (Regular Shampoo)

The shampoo you use depends on scalp type, hair and life style.

After deciding how often to clarify your hair whether is every day or once a week. The next wash should be regular shampoo.

For example, you can clarify your hair 3 times a week and wash twice with normal shampoo. Do whatever works best for your hair.

Since many say it’s best to double wash you can use both in the same wash. You can clarify your hair first then use normal shampoo.

The first high end ones that are recommended is

1.) Redken Acidic Bonding ($34)

I tried this shampoo when it first came out and It was okay. I felt like it did make my hair really soft.  I felt like I expected more from a high end product. I did return it because it was too pricey and it didn't really "transform' my hair. I felt like the Dove one improved my hair more than this one did.

2.) Pureology Strength Cure ($37)

While I did try this product out for a couple of months. I did not see any "wow" results. While it did make my hair really soft. I did not see any other results with my hair. There are way more and less expensive products that helped my hair feel healthy again. For the record I do have color treated hair and it is low porosity. It maybe that this conditioner is not for my type of hair.

3.) Amika the Kure ($29)

What I love about the Amika brand is even though it is quite pricey its well worth it! This product has made my hair feel alive and healthy! It has made my hair feel soft and hydrated. I love that it tames my frizz without drying out my hair.

Pureolgy & Amika have a creamy texture.

These would work most with normal to dry scalp.  These aren’t recommended for hair that’s greasy or weighs down easily.

For drugstore alternatives:

1.) Not Your Mother’s Tough Love ($12)

*Recommended for drier scalps.

2.) Garnier Hair strength & fillers ($5)

*For oily scalps

3.) Dove Bond Strength ($5)

These dove products have done wonders with my hair. I was hesitant with trying them out at first, because just like everyone else, I assume drug store products are bad/ have terrible ingredients that damage hair. But these dove products really surprised me! I have noticed that my hair looks way less brittle than before! I compared the ends of my hair with how my hair is now and it's an amazing change! I love that the drug store product worked better for my hair than the high end ones!

*Most conditioning, so it weighs down hair easily try the other options.

4.) Dove Intensive Repair ($5)

This is the one that I used for my hair and have I frizzy, thin curly hair. I LOVED this one! It makes your hair feel so soft within the first use. I have noticed that my split ends feel so much better. I know that split ends can't be repaired but I feel like my ends have gotten stronger. I know this because my hair has always been prone to breakage. I noticed my hair is now at finally growing past the awkward shoulder length that it is always stuck at. I would rate this 4 out of 5 stars.

6.) L'Oreal Paris EverPure Bond Repair Shampoo ($9)

Shampoos usually make my fine hair so knotted but this L’OrĂ©al shampoo actually didn’t tangle my hair up! It feels very clean and smooth after using (before conditioner). I also ALWAYS double shampoo. I recommend this if you go multiple days between hair washes (I usually go 3-4 days before washing my hair). My hair is always very clean after the 2nd round of shampoo.  My hair now has bounce and weight to it whereas prior to using the bonding shampoo/conditioner made my hair feel really stringy. Very happy I gave this shampoo a chance. I’m a huge fan of super floral scents and this kind of has a stronger floral scent.

*For: in between dry and oil scalps

If you have irritated flaky scalp, you might need to use a medicated shampoo instead of a normal one. (Nizoral, Cerave)
