The Abby Yung Method Step 5: Bond Repair Treatments

The Abby Yung Method Step 5: Bond Repair Treatments

Bond Repair treatments are usually hair products that are designed to strengthen and repair hair from the inside out. These products are highly recommended for hair that is prone to breakage. The first one that Abby recommends is the K18. Even though the directions say to use this after shampoo and to not rinse out. It can be used it as pre shampoo treatment. This treatment is the most expensive one on the list.

1.) K18: Leave-in Molecular Repair Hair Mask ($75)

I have not tried this one personally yet because of the price. I feel like it would be a risk to try and it not work out for me. IF I ever do get the chance to try it out, I will update my blog and make sure to leave a detailed review.

2.) L'Oreal Paris Sulfate Free Bond Repair Pre Shampoo Treatment ($10)

My hair is a lot smoother and easier to manage right after using. However, the real results came with CONSISTENT use after a couple of months. I've noticed that my hair is a lot more resistant to breakage and heat damage. I do have to use a ton of product, so I go through a bottle every two weeks. Use this after shampoo so that it penetrates well, and then follow up with your conditioner/hair mask.

3.) Redken Acidic Bonding Concentrate Treatment ($34)

I have purchased many different type of hair products and most don't really live up to the hype. This is one product that absolutely does! I know it's a "pre-shampoo" treatment, but I find it works best after shampooing and before conditioning..I have fine hair and my ends were dry. Now, my hair is not heavily damaged. I use heat protection and a little bit of hair oil before I straighten my hair. M yhair was left smooth and shiny. It really does work. If you have a lot of damage, give it sometime to notice the difference.

4.) Garnier Fructis Hair Filler Bonding Treatment With Bond Repair ($7)

This isn't a true bond builder but it does contain hyaluronic acid and some silicones to strengthen the hair. It is an affordable option and I think you get a lot of product for what you pay. It smells like a drugstore brand, not that great but this is a pre shampoo product and that shouldn't matter too much. It has a conditioner like texture. Just wet your hair and leave it in for 5 minutes. You can also leave it in a little longer and it will not hurt your hair.  I feel like there is better options to help with bond repair.

5.) Not Your Mother's Tough Love - Instance Bonding Treatment ($12)

I have not used this product yet but I've heard amazing reviews about this brand especially for curly hair. I am going to be purchasing this later this month to test it and see how well it works for curly hair.

6.) OGX Bond Protein Repair Pre-Shampoo ($13)

This product has helped save my hair. Great value for a bit product. My hair went from limp and stringy to healthy looking and manage able. This is the most useful for those of us with thin, fine, damaged brittle hair that are holding on to our hair for dear life. This pre-shampoo is so incredibly useful for any part of our hair that is prone to breakage, a life saver. I put this on my ends, end of bangs, and keep it on for ten minutes before I shower. This product makes my hair soft, workable, flexible and shiny.
