Chi Lava Ceramic Hair Straightener Review

Today  I will be reviewing the Chi Lava one inch ceramic iron. Before I begin, I would like to mention that I'm a huge Chi fan. The first hair straightener that I loved was the original pink one. After using it for a couple of years I felt like I needed to upgrade and for some reason at the time I couldn't find it. Thankfully my sister came across this hidden gem for me. Not only did I get it while it was clearance, I got to use a 10$ coupon and I got it for only $40! I'm going to start off by talking about the features this straightener has and some of the cons it has.

Pro:                                                                        Con:

-60 second heat up                                            -Doesn't come with a heating pad

-Ceramic plates

-Doesn't break/pull hair

First of all I would like to describe what type of hair I have. It has been color treated from all kinds of things LOL. I unfortunately have the white hair gene which means I started getting them when I was sixteen. As soon as I saw my first white hair I wanted to dye my hair but not pay the hundreds of dollars to color it. So what I did first was start using box dye and sun in just to cover it. That didn't last so what I did was put black henna on just because it would last longer. Fast forward a couple of years later and here I  am cutting it just so I can get rid of it. Anyways we all learn from our mistakes and plus it's something I've always wanted to try.

My hair is curly, coarse and dry and it's obviously brittle. I am working on trying to take better care of it which is hard because I like to keep it straight.  So when I do straighten my hair I use a heat protector. I have been using the Chi Total protector that came with my straightener.  I start off by sectioning by hair and straightening from the bottom up.  What I love about this straightener is it leaves my hair feeling soft and looking silky. I always have amazing results with it. The CHI is pretty pricey but it is certainly worth the money. I have had mine for 5+ years. The thing to figure out with flat irons is what plates work best for your hair. I would rate this 5 out of 5 stars just because I haven't had any problems with it
